The White House today announced Jeremy Bernard has been named Special Assistant to the President and Social Secretary. Prior to this role, he worked as the White House Liaison to the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Jeremy Bernard moved to Los Angeles where he started his long tenure as a political fundraiser, and was rewarded in the 1990s by President Bill Clinton, who appointed him to a Kennedy Center advisory committee. Bernard also served as a board member for several gay organizations and advised the Los Angeles sheriff’s and police departments on social issues

Jeremy Bernard will bridge the gaps between the gay and straight communities as the social secretary.
